Oh what a night: Not the most obvious choice for a girly get-together, in fact you’re more likely to find beer bellied gents lining the bar at the InterContinental’s Belgian Café, but ladettes can sup on complimentary Stella as part of their Saturday promotion. Next door at The Yacht Club, free bubbly goes down a treat with the mid-week, post-work posse. Brazilian beats and special cocktails at Chamas round up a full schedule of female-friendly promotions.

Oh what a night: You’ll be glad to read that feather boas, sequined leotards and ridiculous headgear aren’t compulsory at Left Bank’s ‘Carnival’ night. DJs blast out the best of house, funk and R&B while ladies sip on complimentary cocktails (only three per person though, hence the ‘sip’), between 8pm and 11pm, with selected ‘buy one get one free’ offers available throughout the night.

Oh what a night: They say size isn’t everything, but with the longest bar in Abu Dhabi (a stately 26m, no less) Stills is clearly giving it a go. The red brick and black leather interior has a kind of chic Manhattan wine bar feel to it, similar to the enviably cool hangouts preferred by Sex and the City’s Carrie and co. Fans of the series can pretend they’re mingling with New York’s finest and enjoy three free cocktails every Thursday evening.
