Oktoberfest in Abu Dhabi

A celebration of all things German comes to Abu Dhabi

The Village
A three-day celebration of all things German, including live music, Bavarian snacks and you know what else. There’s also an über-efficient German DJ on hand to keep you busy as day staggers into night, as well as ‘interactive entertainment and games’, which hopefully won’t turn out to be quite as sinister as it sounds.
Dhs70 net with 2 complimentary drinks and Dhs180 net including a buffet. One to One Hotel, October 7-9; 1pm-1am (Fri), 5pm-1am (Thu and Sat).

Heroes
You wouldn’t seriously expect one of the city’s most hardcore dens to miss out on the biggest party of the year, would you? We wouldn’t go anticipating the most authentically German experience of your life,
but you can at least look forward to a few Bavarian-themed additions to the menu, as well as some German beverages.
Crowne Plaza Abu Dhabi, October 3-16.

Brauhaus
The city’s only German restaurant gets in on the act with nightly live music from accordion-wielding Austrian group Tschirgant Trio, plus rounds of nagelschlagen, a traditional Bavarian game that involves bashing nails into a tree stump with a hammer. Which may not sound particularly challenging, but you just wait until you’ve got your hops on.
Beach Rotana, October 20-29, 7pm-midnight.

Hilton Beach Garden
A belly-centric celebration based around a table-creaking buffet of traditional pretzels, cold meats, sauerkraut, sausages and strudels. Dhs125 grants you access to the feast, as well as an authentic atmosphere laid on by a seven-piece oompah band playing all your favourite generically German anthems. Simply press your finest lederhosen, turn up and enjoy.
Hilton Abu Dhabi, October 14-15.
