Few would deny that Flash’s Yas Island Show Weekends have been the highlight of Abu Dhabi’s live music calendar this year, drawing the sort of hysterical crowds you’d typically associate with a deadly viral outbreak. And now, with the chirpy pop of the Jonas Brothers and the synthy beats of David Guetta and co firmly out of the way, it’s finally time for the big boys to do their thing.
Okay, so Axl Rose’s vocal clout has certainly declined in recent years (along with his punctuality), but we’re willing to bet he’s still got enough wallop in those lungs to send the masses at Yas Arena absolutely nuts when his men step on stage for the capital’s last big gig of the year. Support will come from Dubai-based rockers Juliana Down, who’ll be testing out fresh material ahead of the launch of their new album, slated for release early next year.
