Urban yout’z be warned: there is precious little on this album which resembles ‘Do It Like a Dude’. Instead, the album takes a startlingly confident stroll through a variety of songwriting styles, from polished R&B, reggae rhythms, pure pop songwriting and torch balladry, all of which show off J’s strident but melancholy tones to affecting effect.
