We’re sad to say that some of our favourite nightspots are closing for the summer months. But it’s not all doom and gloom, these places are throwing giddy farewell bashes, so make sure you head down for a last great night before the autumn.
Closing White Party
Where: Allure by Cipriani
When: July 28
Brief: Allure has had some great bashes over the past year, and its closing party looks to be no exception. In typically dramatic style, guests are invited to dress purely in white for their last party of the season. The main room at Allure will be lit up with huge UV lights so that everyone’s outfits will have a fluorescent glow. Those with particularly white teeth should try not to grin too much, or risk looking like zombie monsters. You have been warned. Entry is free, but only mixed groups will be admitted and ID will be needed on the door.

End of summer Mega Weekend
Where: The Yacht Club
When: July 20 and 21
Brief: For their final weekend of high jinks, The Yacht Club has put together all the best bits of its regular nights that we already know and love. So if you want one last chance to dance to a pumping set from DJ Rabih, listen to a few numbers from sultry singer Jessica Flores and check out a late-night dance show, don’t miss it, whatever you do. As for the ladies, yup, you guessed it, there’s a free flow of bubbly from 9pm onwards on July 20. We’ll miss you, Yacht Club (sob).

PJ’s Beach Party
Where: PJ O’Reilly’s
When: July 29
Brief: They’ve brought us Guns N’ Roses, Nirvana, Metallica and AC/DC – in tribute form of course. White Rabbit have shredded, howled and headbanged their way into our hearts over the past few months, and are now officially Abu Dhabi’s favourite cover band. To send them off in style for the summer, PJ’s is holding a farewell bash. Put on your Hawaiian shirts, straw hats, board shorts and sunnies, this is going to be a massive beach bash, involving special mixed drinks and bottles by the bucket promotions. It’ll be the last Cheese Factory Silly Session of the summer, and it’s kicking off at 4pm, so there’ll be plenty of time to party.

Happy Birthday Hemingway’s!
Where: Hemingway’s Hilton Abu Dhabi
When: July 17-21
Brief: Not a closing party this one, but an unmissable summer bash all the same. It’s (the pub) Hemingway’s 20th birthday and (the writer) namesake Ernest Hemingway’s 112th birthday, and, naturally Hilton Abu Dhabi is taking the chance to celebrate. So, what to expect? First, there will be a Hemingway-themed pub quiz on July 17, with extra-special prizes. Next, something for everyone on July 18 with the double whammy of ladies night and Accumalator’s Night at Jazz Bar & Dining, with even more prizes to be won. A truly epic ladies night is taking place on July 19, with all the restaurants and bars in the Hemingway’s complex giving away free sparkling, house red and whites for ladies. On July 20, the Jazz Supper Club is offering dinner and unlimited house beverages for a bargain Dhs199. Then, to top it all off, the celebrations will close with a grand birthday bash on July 21. Guest DJs and live music from popular bands Synergy and The Newz will keep everyone entertained while they munch unlimited canapés and guzzle house beverages at Cinnabar, Jazz Bar & Dining and Hemingway’s from 8pm-10pm for Dhs99 per person. Phew!
Reopening: Hemingway’s is staying open all through the summer, but Jazz Bar & Dining and Cinnabar will close until after Ramadan.
