Janet Jackson and Metallica have been confirmed for live performances in Abu Dhabi this year.
Six-time Grammy Award-winner Janet Jackson will be taking to the stage in Abu Dhabi as part of her Number Ones, Up Close and Personal tour on October 13.
Heavy metal band Metallica rock into town less than two weeks later on October 25.
Both will be taking part in the Yas Island Show Weekends series of concerts which kicks off with a performance by Liam Gallagher’s Beady Eye on September 16.
Janet Jackson appears on what is her sixth world tour and will be singing songs from her second compilation album.
“These concerts will be different from anything I have ever done,” she said ahead of the tour in January.
“I will be as up close and personal as possible. These concerts are not about special effects. This is a love affair between me and those of you who have supported me and my work for all these years. I’ll be singing and dancing from my heart. The music will all be songs that you’ve made number one for me.”
Metallica, widely regarded as one of the best big stadium rock bands in the world, will appear just two days before widely anticipated shows in Delhi and Bangalore.
Tickets for the Janet Jackson show will cost from Dhs265 to Dhs665 and Metallica tickets will cost from Dhs265 to Dhs595.
