Rogue choirboy Pat Grossi might layer his vocals, dousing them with eerie effects, but unlike so many current one-man electronicists of a woozy pop persuasion, his manipulations never smother the haunting aspect of his melodies. Former single ‘Holding On’ is the finest cut here – Grossi’s heartrending melody backed with fragile harps. Yes, he plays the harp and utilizes it to great and atmospheric effect. There’s beauty in his bleakness.
