Where to watch the big match in Abu Dhabi this weekend

Looking for somewhere to watch your favourite team? Whether it’s the Ashes, the Premier League or the NFL, we’ve rounded up some ideal locations for you to choose from.

Belgian Café
One of the capital’s favourite spots, the Belgian Café is a top place to chill out and watch some sport in a pleasant atmosphere. If you like mussels, meatballs and authentic Belgian beverages, this venue is great for following all your teams.

Porter’s Pub
Every Saturday night at Porter’s Pub, grab your mates for a night of sport. All you have to do is wear your team’s jersey or kit and you’ll get chicken wings for free. Make sure you also keep an eye out for staff wearing a special item of clothing because they will give you happy hour prices for a limited amount of time.

Heroes
This popular watering hole is where loads of fans spend their weekends catching a succession of big games. There’s no pretension at Heroes, it’s just decent food, big tellies and banter with your mates. It’s stuffy and crowded but that’s why people flock here on a weekend.

NRG
Sport, sport and more sport is what you’ll get at Le Méridien’s dedicated bar. As well as TV screens in every corner, there is also a dartboard and pool tables, should the competitive spirit rub off on you while watching your team play. NRG is always packed and has a great vibe. The burgers here are great as well.

Stars ’n’ Bars
If you live on Yas Island and don’t want to travel too far to watch your team then head to Stars ’n’ Bars. Feel well and truly immersed as you sit down in an authentic race car seat, or peer through your table at stacks of signed sports paraphernalia as you flick through the menu. This is the place to catch up with friends over drinks and food while you watch your team. The location won’t be convenient for all, but if you find yourself on Yas Island in the mood for a genuine sports bar, this is worth checking out.

The Retreat
The Retreat offers traditional pub meals, such as a mean fish and chips and a tasty beef burger, and shows live coverage of international sporting events, perfect for watching sport in a more elegant pub atmosphere. With three large LED screens around the bar, guests are sure to have a good view of the golf, as well as being able to enjoy a meal.

Cooper’s
End your weekend at Cooper’s with English Sports Night. You can choose from special promotions, such as bangers and mash with a choice of English beverage for Dhs80. If you’ve been craving some sport and seriously tasty pub fare then this one is for you.

Hemingway’s

Stills Bar & Brasserie
If it’s rugby you’re after then we suggest heading to Stills Bar & Brasserie and watching it on their large screen at their 26-metre long bar. Rugby nights are on every Saturday and Sunday.
