Black Eyed Peas’ frontman Will.i.am rose to superstardom in 2002 with the hip-hop pop band’s breakthrough single ‘Where Is The Love?’. With its universal lyrics (‘a feeling, woohoo, that tonight’s gonna be a good night’) there aren’t too many of us that can’t relate to the sentiment. While it may not be the most profound material, if we all knew how to create such catchy ditties, there would be no need to go to the day job.

The group’s first American number one, despite the fairly ridiculous chorus and equally baffling pretensions of moving music forward to the year ‘three thousand and eight’, with its electronic blips, clicks and buzzes, is certainly memorable. A true Marmite of a song, you’ll either love it or hate it.
