What’s it all about, Jermaine?
We want to create something special for Abu Dhabi. There is a main group of DJs – DJ Sabrina, DJ Cads Fresh, DJ CJ and myself – we play every night. We also try to take on good local DJs based in the UAE. We brought over a guest DJ from Holland, Alessandro Stasi, for the opening night and we’re trying to get La Rocha from Belgium. There are others, but I’ll not say the names, it’ll be a surprise.
Yeah, but how does that differ from elsewhere?
We know that DJs are really fighting each other for space. Everybody wants to be a successful DJ out here and everybody wants to play somewhere. But it’s not easy to get venues. What we are doing is different; we’re recognising talented DJs and giving them a chance to play.
What can we expect to hear?
We’re trying to give people the right party music that they don’t really find in clubs.
Such as…
We’ll be playing a lot of deep house, soulful house, and retro/classic house, from 1989 until 2004. Each DJ will be free to play his own music.
So, house music then?
They will play what they want to let the public hear.
What’s the best thing you’ve seen at a Sensations night?
Guests distributing sparklers and larging it up by themselves. It started with one girl on the opening night and then everyone was so up for it.
