Ras Al Khaimah aims to break two more world records on New Year’s Eve

The fireworks display will be massive

We’ve just heard that Bruno Mars will be playing in Abu Dhabi for New Year’s Eve, but if fireworks are more your thing, it looks like Ras Al Khaimah is the place for you to be.

More than 11,000 fireworks lighting up the sky at last year’s New Year’s Eve firework show just wasn’t enough for Ras Al Khaimah. Now, the emirate plans up its game.

Breaking two Guinness World Records at the dazzling 2019 firework show, RAK will attempt to break two more at this year’s ‘#RAKNYE2020’ firework gala.

RAK promises to give audiences across the emirate a “mind-boggling” presentation of lights, where pyrotechnics, fireworks and laser displays will create a new kind of experience.

As a taste of what celebrators are in for, RAK will ring in the New Year with, for the very first time, pyro-drones that will create “never-before-seen” fireworks to kick off the countdown.

When the clock strikes midnight, Ras Al Khaimah’s main landmarks will be recreated in the sky accompanied by more fireworks.

What’s more, there will also be a special Japanese aerial shell fireworks display. These two new experience will attempt to be the new setters for the Guinness World Records.

Along with family-friendly activities, #RAKNYE2020 will see a range of celebrities – including top performers from the Arab world – perform huge music gigs, too.

“We commenced work on the 2020 New Year’s Eve celebration right after the successful culmination of this year’s event,” said a spokesperson for the organising Committee for the New Year’s Eve celebration.

“Having raised the standards through enhanced features and welcomed visitors from far and wide in the past years, we are committed to delivering another innovative and never-before-seen spectacle for the 2020 New Year’s Eve.”

“Our primary focus is to engage and entertain families, and we are adding several features to delight them, in addition to hosting a celebrity gala featuring top celebrities. With the celebration, we are further underlining the reputation of Ras Al Khaimah as the go-to destination for New Year’s Eve celebrations.”

We can’t wait for the celebrations.
