New Year’s Eve in Abu Dhabi 2019: Where to watch fireworks

Public spaces offering the chance to see 2020 in with a bang

If there’s one thing Abu Dhabi knows how to do well, it’s fireworks.

There are lots of things the capital gets right to be honest, but the commitment to huge fireworks displays will never fail to impress.

Many hotels, restaurants and parties are offering views of the displays, but there are also some public displays on offer.

As well as the ones below, we’re also expecting to hear about displays at the Corniche. Keep an eye on our New Year’s Eve section for details of those.

Al Maryah Island
A fantastic fireworks display will once again take place on Al Maryah Island on New Year’s Eve. There are plenty of vantage points along the promenade and at venues at The Galleria Al Maryah Island, Rosewood Abu Dhabi and Four Seasons Abu Dhabi, if you want to enjoy a meal or party. Plus a concert with Nancy Arjam and Tamer Hosny will also be held to bring in the New Year on Al Maryah Island before the fireworks crackle overhead.

Khor Al Maqta
Fireworks are set to light up the sky over the Grand Canal on New Year’s Eve and there are plenty of places where you can watch. Venues at Shangri-La Abu Dhabi, Qaryat Al Beri, Fairmont Bab Al Bahr, Ritz-Carlton Abu Dhabi, Ventian Village and more are hosting a number of parties, dinners and events on the night where you can book in and take in the spectacular sights once the clock strikes midnight.
Prices and venues vary.

Yas Marina
Yas Island is known for the spectacular fireworks displays and on New Year’s Eve things will be no different. Head to Yas Marina before the big countdown and you can pick your spot to take in the sights and sounds above Yas Island when 2020 begins. There’s also the small matter of a Bruno Mars gig on the island.
