Ras Al Khaimah to host one of the world’s largest fireworks shows on New Year’s Eve

Celebrate the start of 2021 with a spectacular show

The end of 2020 is drawing close and many of us are making plans to celebrate the start of 2021 in style.

Ushering in the new year with a massive fireworks show is Ras Al Khaimah.

The Organising Committee for Ras Al Khaimah New Year’s Eve Celebrations has announced that one the world’s largest pyrotechnics performances will take place this year in the emirate.

There will be fireworks over a 4km-stretch of the sea near Al Marjan Island, all timed to music for a ten-minute performance.

For the first time, the New Year celebrations will be held without public viewing areas and activities. However, hotel guests in Al Hamra Village and Al Marjan island will be able to watch the display, following strict safety guidelines.

Anyone can watch the display at home with live broadcast on television and online at www.raknye.com.

On the day, Sheikh Mohammed bin Salem Al Qasimi road leading to Al Marjan Island will be closed from 2pm and access will only be allowed for residents and guests of hotels.

Last year Ras Al Khaimah made history with the New Year’s Eve Gala which secured the Guinness World Records for the Most Unmanned Aerial Vehicles for Launching Fireworks Simultaneously and the Longest Fireworks Waterfall.

In total, Ras Al Khaimah has set five Guinness World Records for the fireworks displays in the past three years.
