The Hollywood star is causing a stir among residents of the capital

Abu Dhabi is buzzing with the news Hollywood star Ryan Reynolds is in town shooting a new movie.

The Deadpool actor has joined forces with legendary filmmaker Michael Bay for 6 Underground, which is partly being shot in the capital and the UAE.

And, of course, fans are desperate to get a glimpse of their hero while he’s here.

If you’re wondering where exactly he’ll be, you’re in luck.

Reports state he is on Reem Island today (Tuesday) filming parts of the action movie.

People living in the island’s City of Lights area have been warned to expect roadblocks and loud sound effects, reports The National.

A notice handed to residents said filming will take place there from sunset to late from November 13 to 15, although it’s subject to change.

The movie’s production team are said to be in the UAE for the next few weeks, with filming locations across the emirates.

They include Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and Ras Al Khaimah.

Canadian Reynolds, 42, hasn’t been in town for long but he is already loving it here.

He said:  “Shooting in Abu Dhabi is going to be one of the highlights of this production, although you’ll have to wait until the movie hits Netflix to find out why.

“We’ve only been here a few days so far, but the welcome from everyone has been amazing and I can’t wait to explore Abu Dhabi more.”
