This Abu Dhabi road is now closed for a month

Works at the new Midfield Terminal will affect one of the main routes into the capital

Roadworks, they’re never ideal but are a necessary part of development of a city.

As we eagerly anticipate the opening of the new Midfield Terminal in Abu Dhabi, road closures are set to be carried out around the area that connects to the new terminal.

Integrated Transport Centre of Abu Dhabi (ITC) has announced works on one of Abu Dhabi’s main roads for the next month.

A section of Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan road will be closed for a total of 28 days as work is carried out in the area.

The road, located near Abu Dhabi International Airport, will close from noon on June 21 until July 19 when it will reopen to the public.

So if you’re planning on flying out of Abu Dhabi any time soon (we’re looking at you teachers) then it’s best to plan ahead and prepare for increased traffic.

ITC has also urged drivers to drive cautiously and abide by the traffic rules while in the area.

Heading to the airport? A number of free gifts including a Dhs100 voucher and VIP lounge access is being offered to all passengers leaving Abu Dhabi this summer.

Enjoy your travels.
