The world’s most valuable guitar will be displayed in Abu Dhabi

The Dhs7m instrument is covered in diamonds

The UAE loves to break records and we’re not just talking about the Burj Khalifa.

From the furthest leaning building to the largest gathering of people wearing capes and many more in-between, record breaking is something Abu Dhabi seems to enjoy.

So if you love records then you’ve got the chance to see the most valuable guitar ever made when it arrives in Abu Dhabi.

The record breaking Eden of Coronet diamond guitar will be displayed in the capital at the Jewellery and Watch show at ADNEC from October 26 to 31.

The glittering guitar features a total on 11,441 diamonds (that’s 401.14 carats) and over 1.4kg of 18k white gold.

How much is it valued at? An eye-watering $2m – that’s approximately Dhs7,300,000.

We don’t imagine at that price they’ll be allowing you to play Wonderwall on it at the show to show off to your friends.

Holding the Guinness Book of World Record for Most Valuable Guitar, the instrument was created by Mark Lui alongside 68 artisans, taking 700 days to complete

“We try to display striking items at JWS each year and the world’s most valuable guitar does just that,” said Mohamad Meheiddine, Jewellery and Watch Show Event Manager.

“Visitors can enjoy the guitar not only for its extravagance but also be in awe of its functional use for musicians.”

Tickets to the event are free but you must register before attending.
