Eminem at du Arena Abu Dhabi review

The verdict on Eminem’s Abu Dhabi show

It’s been seven years since Eminem last graced the stage in Abu Dhabi, he was a different performer back then and this city was a different place, too.

But, in 2019, Eminem is still one of the biggest names in rap and as he strolls onto the stage in the capital he carries himself with all the poise, composure and confidence of an artist that knows his worth.

Addressing the crowd (his ‘family’), from the off Eminem means business, in his first live performance in five months.

Right from the off, with songs like Greatest and Won’t Back Down, the crowd is brimming with excitement.

Throughout a huge set of nearly 30 songs, fans are treated to big hits like Square Dance, Sing For The Moment, Criminal and White America.

This is not a show from a tired performer on the road, it was a one-off celebration from an iconic artist on the top of his game.

Accompanied by a percussion section, strings, DJ and the grace of singer Skylar Grey, he blasts through a stunning back catalogue of hits spanning more than two decades.

Grey performs a number of songs including Love The Way You Like, Stan and Walk On Water.

Towards the end, big hitters come out – My Name Is…, Without Me and Real Slim Shady, all greeted with a rapturous crowd.

Reports on social media suggested that many people struggled to get in to the show, and the gig was delayed slightly so people could get inside.

However, things were smooth for many, and those inside were treated to an entertaining concert the likes of which Abu Dhabi hasn’t seen in a while.
