UAE Cabinet to renew UAE residency visas and Emirates IDs free of charge

Waiving any related fines starting from Wednesday April 1

UAE residency visas are to be renewed free of charge in light of the COVID-19 outbreak globally.

Set by the UAE Cabinet, the initiative starts today (Wednesday April 1) and waives all UAE residency visas and Emirates IDs renewal fees for those that expired at the start of March, for a further three months.

This applies to those whose UAE residency visas and Emirates IDs expired after March 1.

This act applies to federal government services, including documents, permits, licences and commercial registers, Emirates news agency WAM has reported.

The Cabinet will also waive administrative fines associated with any infractions starting from April 1 for three months.

This is in line with the government’s effort to contain the spread of the coronavirus, and to limit the financial impact of residence in the UAE.
