UAE Government provides 24-hour vital services online

From electricity and water bills to ID card renewals

In line with the UAE’s precautions to stay safe and stay home during the COVID-19 pandemic, the UAE government is offering all-day vital services through its official website.

The government will provide 3,730 vital services along with 270 federal services, including payments of traffic violations, renewal work permits and contracts, electricity and water bills and more.

Users can also download documents and save their applications for later submissions, along with being able to digitally sign documents and forms. For services, head here.

The initiative is also in line with the Emirates Blockchain Strategy 2021, which aims to save Dhs11 billion annually, as well as 389 million government documents, and 1.6 billion kilometres of driving distance for UAE residents.

“During the current circumstances when we are witnessing precautionary measures at a national level to counter the spread of coronavirus, we are all reaping the fruits of these efforts through our readiness, whether in terms of services development or telecommunications and digital transformation infrastructure,” said acting Deputy Director-General of the Information and Smart Government Sector Salem Al Hosani.

“We are ready to continue supporting government agencies in providing remote services, in line with the directives of the country’s leadership and to achieve the authority’s goals to promote a digital lifestyle and create smart infrastructure for the communications sector and digital transformation.”

The move comes with the announcement of Dubai’s National Disinfection Programme extending to 24 hours daily until further notice. Abu Dhabi’s programme is now extended on evenings indefinitely.
