Abu Dhabi releases guidelines for Eid al-Fitr period

People are being urged not to visit other homes

Abu Dhabi Public Health Centre has released guidelines for people to follow during Eid al-Fitr.

They begin with saying that anyone who is praying during Eid should do so at home.

People are also urged not to visit the homes of family and friends. instead communicating with them digitally

Those with chronic illnesses and over 60s are not allowed out, and people are reminded not to to give cash to children as Eid gifts, instead, gifts should be sent electronically.

Anyone who is under 60 is allowed to go out to exercise for two hours per day. Walking, jogging and cycling near your home is allowed. The other guidelines about what to wear and in regards to social distancing still apply.

Domestic workers are not allowed to meet with anyone from outside the home.
