Online payment is now being accepted in all Abu Dhabi taxis. The Integrated Transport Centre, ITC, of the Department of Municipalities and Transport in Abu Dhabi has announced that it has activated online payment across the entire fleet of taxis in the emirate.
The 6,180 taxis, operated by seven companies, are also being sterilised regularly as part of the precautionary measures taken in light of the COVID-19 outbreak.
“This step is taken in line with ITC’s efforts, in collaboration with the stakeholders in public and private sectors, to improve the level of services offered, maintain the health and safety of the public, and reduce the pandemic risks,” read a statement.
To use the online payment, you can download the Abu Dhabi Taxi app, create an account and save your card details. You can then book and pay for the journey via the app.
