Zayed Sports City Abu Dhabi to go plastic bottle-free

New filling stations to have huge impact

We all try to be more environmentally friendly where we can, from taking reusable bags to the supermarket to cutting down the amount of meat we eat we eat and recycling.

Small changes can have a big impact and if we all do our bit the results could be significant.

Aiming to help reduce the environmental impact of single-use plastics, Zayed Sports City has taken to help reduce the use of water bottles.

New refilling stations have been installed in the sports facility by No More Bottles to offer fresh water to all using reusable drinking vessels. The move could help reduce 2019 tonnes of plastic bottles being discarded at the site each year.

A total of 15 water stations have been installed at Zayed Sports City for public use with smart, hands free technology allowing you to fill up with cold water whenever you need it.

“Positively impacting the community has been part of Zayed Sport City’s mission since its inception. Being able to provide the cleanest possible water to our athletes, free of charge, while also lessening the environmental impact of single-use plastics, is an excellent achievement for all,” said Saif Al Mehairbi, chairman of Zayed Sports City.

We are very excited to be leading the way in individual and societal health within the UAE though this partnership with No More Bottles.”
