Abu Dhabi park and ride service launched to coincide with new road tolls

Take the bus for free and avoid the tolls

Abu Dhabi road tolls are now full operation in the capital.

Dhs4 will be charged for vehicles passing through any of the four toll gates during peak hours from Saturday to Thursdays.

Coinciding with the launch, a new citywide park and ride system has been launched to encourage drivers to use public transport more regularly.

The new service allows drivers to park their vehicles in dedicated spaces in the suburbs of Abu Dhabi and use public buses for free to travel to different areas of the city.

The new traffic rules have been launched to improve traffic flow in the city, reduce the number of vehicles on the road, reduce the demand for parking in Abu Dhabi and encourage people to use public buses in the city.

As part of the service, 500 parking spaces have been made available in Mohammed Bin Zayed City and Al Shahama.

The Integrated Transport Centre (ITC) have included two services that passengers can use for free including the 104 and 411 buses that travel to Abu Dhabi Bus Station and other areas of the city as part of the journey.

Services operate from Saturday to Thursday from 6am to 9pm, running every 20 minutes during peak hours and hourly during off-peak hours.

Drivers can obtain a park and ride card for three people including a driver and two passengers to use to travel around the city.

Cards are valid for one day only and can be used unlimited times throughout the day.
