Ras Al Khaimah announces reduced capacity at beaches, parks and restaurants

New measures to protect public safety

Ras Al Khaimah has announced new measures to curb the spread of COVID-19.

All announced changes are already in affect and cover a range of public spaces including cinemas, restaurants, public beaches, parks and more.

The National Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA) introduced a number of capacity limits to protect public health.

All entertainment venues, cinemas, fitness centres, gyms, pools and private beaches at hotels now have a maximum capacity of 50 percent.

Public parks and beaches also have a maximum capacity of 70 percent and shopping malls and centres must not exceed a maximum capacity of 60 percent.

In addition, weddings have a cap of ten people and at funerals a maximum of 20 people.

Restaurants and cafés are also required to ensure that there is a two-metre distance between tables and that no more than four people can be seated at one table at a time, unless they are members of the same family.

Preventative measures including wearing a mask and ensuring safe social distancing is required in all public spaces across the emirate.

Similar preventative measures have recently been announced in Abu Dhabi and Sharjah in recent times with strict capacity limits in many public places.

In Dubai, restaurants, pools and hotels have also reduced capacity.
