Pfizer vaccine now available in Abu Dhabi

US-made vaccine approved for distribution, find out where

The Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine is now available in Abu Dhabi, local health authorities have confirmed.

The jab is being administered in the capital and across the emirate by Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA), and is available to everyone except those who are participants of Phase III of the clinical trial; have received a single or multiple dose of any other COVID-19 vaccine; pregnant women; and children under 16.

People with certain medical conditions (to be assessed by professionals) and those with severe allergic reactions to any component in the vaccine are also exempt.

Al Zafaranah Diagnostic and Screening Centre, Madinat Mohamed Bin Zayed Healthcare Centre and Al Bahia Healthcare Centre – all based in the city – are now stocked with the vaccine, which was previously unavailable in the region.

Over in Al Ain, eligible residents can get the inoculation shot at Oud Al Touba Diagnostic and Screening Centre and Neima Healthcare Centre.

Meanwhile, people in Al Dhafra can head to the Al Dhafra Family Medicine Centre.

Pfizer jabs are by appointment only, and bookings for the above facilities can be made by calling 800 50.

Elsewhere, Mubadala Health vaccination centres are also administering the Pfizer vaccine.

Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi and Healthpoint Hospital are both carrying the injection, as are Capital Health Screening Centres at Al Jazeera Sports Club, Mubadala Tower in Abu Dhabi and in the Shiab Al Ashkhar district in Al Ain.

Jabs at these sites are also by appointment only, and can be booked by calling 800 4959 or sending an email to mcv@telemed.ae.

The Sinopharm vaccine is widely available across Abu Dhabi emirate and are available via walk-in as well as appointment.

Similarly, any resident over the age of 16 is eligible for the jab unless they are a pregnant woman, nursing mother, someone with immunodeficiency diseases, women planning to conceive in the next three months, or have severe allergic reaction to anything in the vaccine.
