You can now use your Emirates ID to prove PCR and vaccine status with Emirates

Ready to fly?

Emirates IDs can now be used to show proof of vaccination at Dubai Airport when flying with Emirates Airline.

A deal between Emirates and Dubai Health Authority will mean UAE residents don’t need to present a physical negative test certificate or vaccine card when checking in.

Instead, you just insert your Emirates ID into a card reader when you arrive at the departures terminal.

The move is expected to reduce waiting times at the airport as thousands of residents prepare to travel abroad this summer.

The new system is not mandatory, but will hopefully speed up the check-in process for residents.

Emirates assured users that it will only process information relating to the COVID-19 entry requirements and the customer’s destination, not your wider health records. Once you check in, any information relating to your medical record will be discarded from the airline’s system.

The news comes hot on the heels of Dubai Airport’s announcement that it is reopening Terminal 1, with approximately 40 carriers returning to DXB terminal on Thursday June 24. Read the full scoop here.
