Al Wasl Dome lights up for Expo 2020 countdown

It marked 100 days until the biggest show on earth

Expo 2020 Dubai klaxon – there are less than 100 days to go until the greatest show on earth arrives in the UAE.

Yes, the biggest celebration of innovation the UAE has ever organised is fast on its way, and one of the site’s coolest buildings has done something truly awesome to brighten up our day.

The Al Wasl Dome has been illuminated by more than 250 laser projectors to create the world’s largest 360-degree projection, spelling out ‘100 Days to Go’ for the whole planet to witness.

And the celebrations continued at the world’s tallest building, the Burj Khalifa, which also lit up in a message of support ahead of the global mega event.

The blockbuster event was due to happen last year but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

It will instead kick off on Friday October 1, 2021 and will run through to Thursday March 31 of next year.

The first World Expo to take place in the Middle East, Africa and South Asia will see more than 190 nations descend on the UAE to take part in a worldwide sharing of culture and innovation with each country enjoying its own pavilion to showcase how it impacts the world most critical issues.

Three core themes Sustainability, Mobility and Opportunity will be explored in a number of ways across three dedicated districts.

Tickets for entry will be priced at Dhs25.

Have you got your countdown clocks set? We’ll see you there.
