Bumper weekend expected at Dubai International Airport ahead of Eid Al Adha

Emirates urges passengers to get to DXB three hours ahead of flight time

Travelling this Eid? If you’re planning on flying from Dubai you’d best schedule in some extra time, as Emirates Airlines is urging passengers to get to Dubai International Airport (DXB) early.

Emirates is anticipating another bumper weekend this weekend (July 16-17), so make sure you’re prepared if you’re jetting off on your hols.

“Emirates is expecting high passenger volumes to pass through Terminal 3 at Dubai International this weekend, 16-17 July, as traveller numbers reach among their highest levels since the pandemic began,” said Emirates.

With a six-day weekend on the cards, many people look set to be taking advantage of the Eid Al Adha public holiday to get away.

Due to additional safety measures and COVID-19 travel requirement checks in place, check-in could take longer than usual too – so leave plenty extra time. Everyone is being urged to check in at least three hours before departure – if you arrived less than 60 minutes before your flight time you won’t be allowed to board

If you’re flying with Emirates you can check in online up to 48 hours before you fly and in person up to 24 hours beforehand (12 hours for US destinations), and passengers are encouraged to drop their bags as early as possible.

Don’t forget to bring all your travel documents too, to make sure your check-in is as fast as possible. That includes checking out all the latest travel requirements at your destination, including forms, vaccination certificates, negative PCR tests and more – visit the Emirates Travel Hub for more info.
