Swedish Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai breaks world record with sticky buns

Mister Baker cooks up 1,500 treats to make history

Popular bake shop Mister Baker fired up the ovens to help the Swedish Pavillion at Expo 2020 Dubai write its name in the history books with the world’s longest cinnamon bun train.

Mixing together 6kg of butter, 11kg of sugar, and 36kg of flour to bake a whopping 1,500 sweet treats, Mister Baker and the Swedish Pavillion etched their names into the Guinness World Records.

The air at the pavilion filled with an irresistible sweet and warm scent as the buns swelled up in the oven.

Hungry onlookers cheered chefs with applause, as the first batch of the longest cinnamon bun train began pulling into place at 4.45pm.

The record was confirmed nearly an hour later, with the record-breaking pastry train displayed in a spiral on a large circular table at the heart of the pavilion.

The successful record attempt follows hot on the heels of Cinnamon Bun Day earlier this month (October 4).

The world record also celebrates the Swedish Fika, a delightful custom of enjoying coffee and a sweet treats with friends.
