A regular with Dubai’s foodies, The Thai Kitchen enjoys an unparalleled reputation for superb Thai food and stunning Creek views – with a price tag to match. Luckily over 12 days of DSS you can enjoy three of its renowned signature dishes for a very reasonable Dhs150, including Tom Yam Goong to start, Gang Kiew Wan Phak for mains and the legendary Khao Niew Ma Muang – or sticky rice with mango, coconut cream, mung bean – for dessert.

45. Enjoy breakfast and a movie at Theatré Café

Booked an early morning screening at VOX Cinemas? Be sure to arrive in good time to fill up on a hearty breakfast before your movie starts for just Dhs69. Dishes include eggs with heirloom tomatoes, gooey French toast and the restaurant’s infamous berry acai bowl which promises to offset all that popcorn. Kids get brekkie and a drink for Dhs25 too, so be sure to take them along.

46. Explore Dubai’s Indian cuisine scene at Varq

A great shout for both vegetarians and meat eaters alike, Varq errs on the side of luxury Indian cuisine while managing to remain refreshingly authentic. Choose from two 3-course set dinner menus during Summer Restaurant Week – one full of delicious plant-based dishes including Bhatti Paneer and Paneer Lababdar, while the other houses classics including Murgh Methi Malai Kebab – a dreamy spiced yoghurt marinated chicken – and the lamb-heavy Marthban Ka Meat.

47. Experience la dolce vita at Vero

One of the newest Italian kids on the block, Vero opened earlier this year to rave reviews. If you’ve still not been down to check it out then there’s no better time – you can dig into all its top dishes at a fraction of the price with its Dhs150 3-course summer menu. Cleanse your palette with a welcome green detox gazpacho before filling up on the likes of crispy calamari and zucchini, ravioli ricotta and catch of the day served with lemon butter sauce. The desserts are to die for too – we highly recommend the Vero tiramisu.
Running Fri August 12 – Sun August 28. Dinner from Dhs150 (adults), Dhs35 (kids). Hilton Dubai The Walk, JBR. hilton.com/en/hotels/dxbjbhi-hilton-dubai-jumeirah/dining/vero. Reserve your table at summerrestaurantweek.com.

48. Take a trip to Garhoud for a meal at Warehouse

Perhaps one of Dubai’s longest standing bars, Al Garhoud’s Warehouse is shrugging off its party reputation this month and focusing on its food which, if we do say so ourselves, is rather excellent. With starters including burrata and crab cakes, mains of jambalaya, Asian glazed salmon and its Impossible Burger, plus cherry chocolate roulade and warm apple pie for dessert, its 3-course summer set menu is worth a gander. There’s a lunch menu too, if that suits better.
Running Fri August 12 – Sun August 28. Dinner from Dhs150 (adults), Dhs35 (kids). Le Meridien Dubai Hotel & Conference Centre, Airport Road. warehouse-dubai.com. Reserve your table at summerrestaurantweek.com.

49. Treat the family to a fun day out at Wavehouse

The perfect place for an action-packed day – or night – out, Wavehouse at Atlantis boasts everything from a bowling alley and arcade to soft play, bar and wave rider machine. It also rustles up some pretty good grub, and its summer set menu is no different. Comprising everything from plum tomato bruschetta and penne arrabiata to salmon poke bowls and fresh fruit salads, choose from two courses for lunch or three for dinner. Just be sure to leave enough time to digest before getting out on the water.

50. Dinner and a view at Weslodge Saloon

The city’s favourite Canadian export, Weslodge is the place to head this month as discounted top-notch food is served at their City Walk branch. During Summer Restaurant Week, hungry diners can munch on a 2-course set lunch menu or a 3-course set dinner menu that’s great for an after-work bite. Order the southern fried chicken and you won’t be disappointed.
