Al Hosn green status validity period reduced

The update comes into effect from June 15

Following a briefing this evening on Twitter, the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA) announced changes to the validity period of ‘green status’ on Al Hosn app and reinforced the need to wear face masks indoors in the UAE.

Reconfirming how well the UAE has handled the Covid-19 pandemic, NCEMA is encouraging the public to continue to be vigilant against the spread of the virus.

Updates to Al Hosn

At the end of April the validity for ‘green status’ on the Al Hosn app was extended to 30 days; this extension has now been retracted.

It was announced that the validity of ‘green status’ on the Al Hosn app would be reduced from 30 days to just 14 days from Wednesday June 15.

It is hoped that this will encourage the public to increase testing frequency and maintain social safety in order to further halt the spread of the virus in the UAE.

It was also noted that this is a precautionary and preventative measure.
