Parents can now see school vaccination rates on the Al Hosn app

Access updated school information through the Blue Schools feature

Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK) and Al Hosn National Health System have announced an update to the Al Hosn app that allows parents to check the vaccination rates at their children’s school.

Wondering how many people in your child’s class, bubble, or school are vaccinated? The Abu Dhabi Blue School initiative has been integrated with the Al Hosn app to create transparency between schools and parents, encourage optimal vaccination rates, and ensure the health and safety of school communities.

Accessing the new information about your child’s school is simple. All you need to do is update your Al Hosn app through the AppStore and GooglePlay, add your children to your personal Al Hosn account, and access the Abu Dhabi Blue Schools feature through the app.

To ensure student privacy, school and classroom vaccination insights will be presented in percentages and numbers, and will be anonymous. Vaccination of students younger than 16 will remain optional, but parents are encouraged to get their children vaccinated to foster health and safety in schools. School vaccination numbers and percentages for in-class students will be updated every fortnight.

The Abu Dhabi Blue Schools initiative offers Abu Dhabi schools a path towards normalcy with customised privileges based on student vaccination rates. 45 schools in Abu Dhabi have moved to the yellow tier, 22 to the green tier, and two schools have achieved the blue tier with 85 percent of in-person students being vaccinated.
