New bus service between Dubai and Abu Dhabi to start this May

Great news for those who wish to use public transport to get to the UAE capital

Public transport users will soon be able to travel easier between Dubai and Abu Dhabi thanks to a new bus service between Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is bringing in a new route, named E100, which will go from Al Ghubaiba, near Dubai Creek, to Abu Dhabi’s central bus station. If you’ve been hoping for a new bus service between Dubai and Abu Dhabi, this is it.

Get ready to hop on board soon as the new bus service between Dubai and Abu Dhabi is set to start running on Thursday May 19.

It is not the first route to go from the city to the capital as there is already the E101 service which goes from Ibn Battuta (near Jebel Ali) to Abu Dhabi.

There is also another new bus route launching, named F38, that will start at Jumeirah Golf Estates Metro Station and travel to Dubai Sports City.

As well as the additional routes, RTA is also resuming several bus routes linking the Emirates that were paused during COVID-19.

Services returning are the E201 which goes from Al Ghubaiba Bus Station to Al Ain, the E315 route from Etisalat Metro Station to Muwaileh, Sharjah, and the E700 from Union Square Bus Station in Deira to Fujairah.

The return of routes and the introduction of new ones makes travelling around the UAE easier for residents and travellers. Besides the new bus service between Dubai and Abu Dhabi, we can also expect the Etihad Rail to connect the emirates. In fact, the tracks between Abu Dhabi and Dubai are already linked.

At the start of the year, RTA partnered up with Google Maps to deliver real-time updates of bus timetables and availability across the city. Very useful.

It made Dubai the first city in the Middle East to use real-time data on bus routes on Google Maps.

From Thu May 19.
