UAE T20 League announces tournament dates

Anticipation for the winter cricket season is building already

Dates for the UAE’s T20 cricket league have finally been announced.

The International League T20 (ILT20), a franchise-style cricket tournament, will take place between January 6 and February 12, 2023 at venues across the UAE.

It’s going to be a bit of a wait for cricket fans but there’s plenty to look forward to.

Six teams will compete in 34 cricket matches as part of the league, which is to be held at different venues throughout the UAE.

Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence and Chairman of the Emirates Cricket Board, His Highness Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan, said the league will “provide entertainment and excitement to the millions of fans around the globe who are waiting for the first ball of the UAE T20 League to be bowled.”

The Emirates Cricket Board brings the tournament to the UAE in partnership with industry-popular names such as Reliance Industries, Kolkata Knight Riders, Capri Global, GMR, Lancer Capital, Adani Sportsline, and ZEE as a broadcaster.

Cricket enthusiasts will recognise Kolkata Knight Riders from the Indian Premiere League, where it’s one of the popular franchise teams.

Looks like it’ll soon be time to whip the cricket jerseys out.
