Tickets now on sale for Bivol vs Ramirez WBA match at Etihad Arena

This super-fight with two undefeated superstars sounds exciting

Fans of boxing, get your gloves up because a new WBA match at Etihad Arena has been announced — and it sounds like it’ll have you on the edge of your seat.

Dmitry Bivol will defend his WBA light-heavyweight world title against Mandatory Challenger Gilberto Ramirez aka “Zurdo” on Saturday November 5.

The WBA match at Etihad Arena will be happening live; and tickets are now available to buy on the matchroom website, starting from Dhs295 for a bronze package to Dhs6,995 for a VVIP package.

Bivol is coming off a huge upset win over Mexican pound-for-pound superstar Saul Alvarez in Las Vegas in May, where he retained his 175 pound world title. Bivol handed Alvarez the second loss of his career (yikes), cementing his place as one of the very best light-heavyweights.

“The fight with Zurdo has been brewing for some time, many things have been said,” Bivol said in a press release. “Now we have the chance to take care of things with our actions in the ring.”

Ramirez is a former WBO super-middleweight world champion and has won not one, not two, but all five of his fights at light-heavyweight. The southpaw has since emerged as the mandatory challenger to Bivol after a fourth-round knockout of Dominic Boesel in California.

“I’m happy that the fight is finally happening despite all the challenges,” said Ramirez. “It’s been a long time coming and I look forward to a great night come November 5. I would fight Bivol anywhere.” Aww.

The WBA match at Etihad Arena is not the only porting event to look forward to in November. The F1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix will be heating up the Yas Island scene during that month too.

It’s a great time to be a fan of sports in the capital, and this super-fight with two undefeated superstars sounds seriously exciting. See you at the WBA match at Etihad Arena? We think so.
