The Boat House Cafe:
Based in Beau Vallon, it offers a mix of Creole and Western food, with a big dollop of local atmosphere. Not fancy, but hugely popular with visitors and locals.

Cyann:
For the best in haute cuisine, check out Cyann at the Constance Ephelia Resort. It combines the best of French cooking with an Asian twist and also is home to a sushi bar, varied grape cellar and a chef’s table.

Must see...
There are 65 beaches on Mahé alone, but if you can tear yourself away, visit the smaller island of La Digue where the main form of transport is still an ox-cart, for a seriously slow pace of life.

There are many different walks for differing fitness levels that wind through lush landscape and offer spectacular views. Pick up a brochure at the Botantical Garden in Victoria, Mahé’s capital.
