Order a takeaway in Abu Dhabi

Four places to get a quick bite if you don’t want to cook

Eat out

Amerigos
Feel like grabbing some cracking quesadillas or indulging in your guilty, sour-cream-soaked pleasures with the boys? Amerigos has you sorted for dinner and lunch throughout Ramadan. The food here is as authentic as Mexican gets in the capital. This is a man’s Tex Mex: it’s the kind of place to be if you take your dinner seriously and aren’t interested in silly frills.
Open noon-4pm, 6pm-11pm. Park Inn, Yas Island (02 656 2222).

Grand Central
It’s not only relatively new to our city’s burger scene, it’s also probably top of our list for serving high-end meat patties in buns, and the venue is designed to look like a train station. We recommend trying the wagyu beef or the organic chicken. But leave room for the desserts.
Open from 7pm only during Ramadan. Al Markaziyah, Muroor Street and 15th opposite Mubadala (02 642 6499).

Order in

Zatar w Zeit
These guys deliver at all hours of the day and are guaranteed to hit the spot, whether you fancy a wrap, a flatbread, a salad or some chicken strips. We’re convinced it’s the healthier alternative to the usual fast food. There are various branches across the city, including at Abu Dhabi Mall.
Delivery available 24/7, open 6pm-5am during Ramadan if you’re eating in (600 522 231).

Spaccanapoli
Crisps aren’t going to cut it when you’ve got your mates round for a night of Fifa, so put a call into Spaccanapoli. They serve some of the best pizza in town and, if your clique features one of those party poopers who won’t settle for what everyone else is having, there’s a lot more on than menu than your average fast-food pizza joint can offer.
Open throughout Ramadan, 9am-midnight. Crowne Plaza, Hamdan Street (02 616 6261). Delivery available through Room Service Deliveries www.roomservice-uae.com.
