Ramadan apps for iPhone

Keep up with the Holy Month’s ancient traditions on your iPhone

The Holy Month’s traditions might be ancient but that’s no reason why you can’t use all the latest gadgets to keep you on the straight and narrow this month. Smartphones and tablets have all sorts of devices to alert you to prayer times, help keep a log of your thoughts and prayers, and even select inspirational Qur’an texts to give you a motivational push during difficult or testing times of the month. Here are a few of our favourites:

Find Mecca, iPhone: This app uses the iPhone’s compass capability and GPS to locate the Qibla (direction of Mecca that Muslims must face when praying). It also has a countdown to prayer time function to help you plan your day better.
