Working hours for employees in Abu Dhabi’s private sector have been reduced by two hours during Ramadan.
Ramadan 2020 started on Friday (April 24) and the news comes from the Ministry of Human Resource and Emiratisation.

According to the UAE news agency WAM, “The Ministry’s decision emphasised the necessity for the establishments to take into account all the precautionary and preventive measures applied in the country to protect workers and clients from COVID-19 pandemic.”
Last week the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR) announced the official working hours for ministries and federal entities for Ramadan 2020. All work will start at 9am and finish at 2pm, although all “Ministries and Federal entities must take into consideration those whose nature of work requires otherwise”.

Meanwhile school hours are also reduced for kids in Abu Dhabi.
The Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK) stated: “ADEK has communicated with private and charter schools that teaching hours should not exceed five hours a day. Schools should start as of 9.30am and not exceed 3pm.”
