Special Ramadan virtual race launching this week in the UAE

Dubai Sports Council launches the Ramadan Mubarak Challenge

With it now more important than ever for us to hit our daily fitness goals while spending practically all of our time at home – keeping off of the sofa and on our feet is a little bit more challenging. Now the Dubai Sports Council has launched a brand-new initiative to keep us all active during Ramadan.

The Ramadan Mubarak Challenge is taking place on Friday May 15 and May 22, for 24 hours from 9am. It’ll cost you Dhs25 to enter, full registration details are available here, and participants can run either 5km or 10km at home.

How you run it is up to you, but to officially submit your time to be validated by Dubai Sports Council, you need to provide an image of your phone or smart watch displaying your run-time. Whether you’re using Strava, Garmin, Fitbit, Apple Watch or anything else to track your run, make sure you have a snap to back it up.

Participants will have their times scored against runners from both races, and the top three winners will receive race medals, while everyone who took part will receive a digital certificate.
