Every book nerd knows Borders. It’s one of the go-to places to buy books in Abu Dhabi with its wide variety of choices and tables full of books on sale. There’s also plenty of stationery, art supplies, games, toys and back-to-school supplies, if you’re in the market. Plus, if you’re hoping to pick up three or four books in one go, this chain often has a buy two get one sale going.

After one of the biggest places to buy books in Abu Dhabi? This bookstore is absolutely massive. Kinokuniya is located in The Galleria Al Maryah Island, on the top floor. It has two levels with an escalator inside, a huge dedicated kids’ section, loads of graphic novels and art books plus art supply section. Once you step inside, you might not want to ever step out. (You’ve been warned.) Kinokuniya hails from Shinjuku, Tokyo but has since travelled around the world to land in Abu Dhabi much to readers’ delight.
