While we may not be travelling as much as we’d like to at the moment, Abu Dhabi’s Etihad Airways (which is now operating to 58 destinations worldwide – found out more here) has launched an awesome initiative that allows its members to spend and earn points right here in the UAE.
The Abu Dhabi-based airline carrier has partnered up with malls, entertainment destinations and more, meaning members can still take advantage of top benefits.
Whether you want to fill up your car with petrol for less, buying something online on the Etihad Reward Shop, have a slap-up lunch at the mall, do your weekly food shop for less or catch the latest movie at the cinema, all that and more is possible thanks to the new ‘on the ground’ partnerships.
First up, Majid Al Futtaim’s SHARE has partnered with the airlines loyalty programme which allows members of both programmes to enjoy more lifestyle and travel rewards. Etihad Guest members can now convert their miles to SHARE points and use them in over a whopping 2,300 Majid Al Futtaim shopping, hospitality, leisure and entertainment outlets.
Similarly, SHARE members can transfer their points into Etihad Guest Miles and spend them on Etihad Airways flights and the Etihad Guest Reward Shop.
For every five Etihad Guest Miles, members will receive one SHARE point and SHARE points can be transferred to Etihad Guest Miles at the conversion rate of 1.5 Etihad Guest Mile for every one SHARE point.
The points can be used towards purchases across all Majid Al Futtaim brands and at 17 shopping malls across the UAE including Dubai’s Mall of the Emirates, all City Centre shopping malls, Carrefour, VOX Cinemas, Dreamscape, Magic Planet and more. Looking to fuel up your car for less? Etihad Airways has also teamed up with ADNOC, meaning Etihad Guest Miles can be converted to ADNOC Rewards Points and vice versa – for every one Etihad Guest Mile, members will receive 20 ADNOC Rewards Points, and for every 110 ADNOC Rewards Points, members will receive one mile.
And lastly, the airline has also teamed up with Aldar Properties allowing members to earn and spend miles with their Visa cards while shopping at Yas Mall, Al Jimi Mall and World Trade Center Abu Dhabi.
With over 650 retailers to choose from, members can earn one Etihad Guest Mile for every Dhs3 spent on purchases with their Visa cards over Dhs50, or choose to spend their miles for transactions over Dhs50.
This exclusive agreement is one of the most generous retail reward partnerships in the UAE and it also allows members to earn Tier Miles on purchases.
To earn and spend miles, all you need to do it connect your Visa card to your Etihad Guest mobile app. Keen shoppers will automatically earn miles if the transaction is over Dhs50, and if you have enough miles in your account, you’ll receive a push notification with an offer to redeem miles on your purchase.
