Qatar unveils official FIFA World Cup mascot

La’eeb will engage fans young and old during the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022

Qatar has unveiled the official FIFA World Cup mascot as La’eeb.

La’eeb is an Arabic word meaning super-skilled player, and the mascot will “encourage everyone to believe in themselves as ‘Now is All’”.

According to FIFA, La’eeb comes from a parallel world where tournament mascots live, and he will be known for spreading joy and confidence everywhere he goes.

Khalid Ali Al Mawlawi, deputy director general of marketing, communications and tournament experience in the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy, said, “We are sure fans everywhere will love this fun and playful character.

“La’eeb will play a vital role as we engage fans young and old in Qatar’s FIFA World Cup experience.”

The official FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 mascot has attended every previous tournament, and has contributed to some of the most famous moments in football history.

Fans will get to know the World Cup mascot over the next few months, with GIFs and stickers across social media channels like Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat.

You’ll also soon be download La’eeb screensavers and filters to use.

The news comes after FIFA revealed Al Rihla by adidas as the tournament’s official ball last week.
