More names confirmed for UFC in Abu Dhabi this year

A lightweight bout is the first to book its place in the capital in September

Excited for the return of UFC to Abu Dhabi?

As fight fans count down the months until the octagon opens for business in the capital, new details have been announced about the card.

Moroccan fighter Ottman ‘the bulldozer’ Azaitar will make his UFC debut at the UAE event by going toe-to-toe with the Fin Teemu Packalen.

Azaitar is undefeated in his career to date and will be looking to make an impression when he makes his bow at UFC 242 in Abu Dhabi.

For Packalen it’s a return to the octagon after nearly three years out with injury.

Elsewhere, UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov is also expected to make his return to the sport in Abu Dhabi but details have not yet been confirmed.

UFC 242 will take place on Yas Island on September 7 and is the latest UFC event to be held in the city since 2010 and 2014.

Ticket details will be released at a later date, so watch this space for more updates.
