lululemon celebrates Global Running Day with virtual 5km challenge

With helpful tips from Canadian long distance runner Rob Watson

To celebrate Global Running Day today (Wednesday June 3), sports company lululemon is hosting a virtual 5km Strava challenge for all runners (beginners and pros) to take on, and it aims to not only celebrate the finish line, but the starting line, too.

Partnering up with run and cycling tracking service Strava, the challenge wants to bring the running community together by posting their starting line on social media – going on a global run, together.

That’s not all, as those looking for a few pointers to finish the 5km run (or more) in style, Canadian long distance runner and national champion Rob Watson is offering a helping hand on how to train the right way. You can check out the tips right here.

Looking to get involved? Using the Strava app, record a 5km run to complete the Global Running Day challenge, whether it be outdoors or on a treadmill, and let the world and lululemon know you played your part by tagging #thesweatlifeme and @lululemonme.

If you’re looking for new routes to take to mix up your run, we’ve picked out the best places right here.
