Step-by-step
Hairworks is a very popular and well known salon in the capital so it wasn’t surprising that it was absolutely buzzing. We take a seat in one of the comfy chairs and talk about our concerns. Our hair is very dry and a little dull, so we decided on a Kerastase treatment that will deeply condition the hair and make it stronger. Our locks are washed and then the treatment is applied all over our head, which is then massaged while the mask soaks in. The mask works to strengthen and protect damaged hair from the inside out and helps to prevent breakage and split ends while giving more vitality and resilience, which is great if you blow dry or straighten your hair a lot. Once the treatment is washed out it’s time for our blow dry. We ask for it to be styled straight with lots of volume. Mousse and a heat protectant is applied and our hairdresser gets to work. She uses a very large round brush to work heaps of volume into our hair, especially our roots.
The results
Our hair feels so soft and has lots of shine. The treatment has put so much moisture back into our hair and it feels like it is now in very good condition. The blow dry was excellent and gave our hair lots of lift – it made it look thicker, which was also nice. We’d highly recommend this salon and will be going back to repeat the treatment when our hair gets dry again.
Pros
Hairworks is a very friendly salon with lots of experienced staff. They use products from Redken and Kerastase, among others, and they have a high level of knowledge when it comes to the latest trends. They also offer threading, waxing and nails so it’s super convenient should you wish to get these services done while you are there. Manager, Lyndal, is a hair guru and can offer you all sorts of advice on how to look after your tresses.
Cons
It’s above Spinneys so sometimes it can be a little hard to park. They are always busy so make sure you book an appointment.
