Glamour Hair Salon – tried & tested

An upper-root rescue for blondes looking for some extra spark

Caitlyn Davey visits Glamour Hair Salon for a blonde fixer-upper and a bit of a root rescue.

The promise
Great results for blondes from this highly recommended and popular UK salon.

The experience
The salon is a girly neo-classic design, with chandeliers and a monochrome colour-scheme, it’s fun and fresh.

We consulted with our stylist, Tara, about what we wanted. Tara recommended a head of highlights to break up the block of dull brown that has become our hair and to cover the regrowth. We are never ones to argue with a professional so Tara got down to business, we sat back and let her work her magic. Foils upon foils sat in our hair transforming our look from drab to fab (we hoped).

We were a little concerned at first because normally our hairdressers like to use toner. Tara said we didn’t need toner, because the highlights have colour in them so will virtually tone themselves.

Glamour is a fun salon to be in, the stylists are easy-going and friendly and the clients chat among themselves – we couldn’t help but join in. It almost made us nostalgic for the gossipy salons back home.

After waiting around 30 minutes we had the dye washed out, and a heavenly scalp massage during the wash (the best part). We then received some argan oil to hydrate our thirsty tresses.

The whole process was far shorter than other visits to a hair salon, which is automatically a plus – it took around an hour rather than the three-plus hours we have spent in similar establishments before.

When Tara had our hair washed and dried, we were gobsmacked. Our colour was amazing, we felt like we needed new clothes to match our hot new look. The ashy tones were complemented by creamy hues in a bombshell result. Needless to say, we took our hair out to dinner to show it off.

The results
A glossy and subtle blonde mane with rich highlights catching the light, we were extremely satisfied with the results.

Pros
The best blonde we have seen in Abu Dhabi, the experience is relaxing and the therapists know what they are doing so can look after every client accordingly.

Cons
Obviously we already have blonde hair, this wouldn’t be recommended for people with dark hair (though Glamour could surely accommodate something else).
