Feeling unwell and flat, Caitlyn Davey sought out the detoxification treatment at the newest NStyle outlet.

The experience
After a hard weekend, it seemed appropriate to organise a detoxification treatment. We visited the NStyle’s newest brand in the World Trade Center Mall. NStyle has several branches around town but the World Trade Center Mall is one of the newest. The colour scheme is clean white with dashes of purple. The salon is reasonably quiet, which immediately gives a sense of relaxation.
This treatment begins with a scrub, using Heaven beauty products.
This is a salt and algae scrub that is worked into our muscles to detoxify them. The algae and salt are designed to penetrate the skin and help fats be emulsified within the tissue. It feels a little scratchy at first, exfoliating our skin cells and getting our blood pumping. We see immediate effects as it seems to scrape away some of the weeks of build up of dead skin cells, stress and tenseness we’ve accumulated.
We get scrubbed on our limbs, back and stomach, which feels good as we lie there serenely. The therapist’s hands push into our muscles, unearthing fresh and bright skin. It’s an interesting feeling, and afterwards we feel more awake… but not for long.
The next step is an aromatherapy massage to stimulate blood flow and rework tired limbs. The relaxation of the treatment calms us into a light sleep.
A therapist begins with our feet, and works smoothly into our calves. The therapist uses massage oils that have detoxifying qualities; designed to stimulate our system and help eliminate toxins. The massage unearths some aches and pains we weren’t aware of before, and the therapist quickly works the knots out. The products smell refreshing and the movements helps our muscles.
The results
We feel awake and alert and also strangely calm and together. This vitalising treatment made us feel energised and refreshed, we felt our body buzzing and our circulation had definitely improved. Our water-retention has been improved and our clothes feel a tiny bit looser.
The pros
Great for those days when you are feeling a little flat. It’s a great way to perk yourself up in a soothing way.
The cons
The scrub feels a little abrasive at first, but it serves its purpose!
