You can now sign-up for the 2019 Abu Dhabi Marathon

The second annual event will take place on December 6

How many times have you thought about doing a marathon but never got round to it?

If you’re anything like us, the answer will be “lots”, but perhaps the second-ever Abu Dhabi Marathon can tempt you?

The 2019 edition of the race will take place on Friday December 6 and registration is open now.

There will also be 10km, 5km and 2.5km run at the ADNOC-sponosored event and if you sign up before May 31 you’ll get a 30 percent discount on the entry fee.

The first race in 2018 saw more than 10,000 runners take to the capital’s roads but organisers are hoping for 15,000 this time out. 

HE Aref Al Awani, general secretary of Abu Dhabi Sports Council says: “As part of our celebrations of the UAE’s 48th National Day, we will welcome runners from all corners of the community. as well as outside the Emirates, to Abu Dhabi to unite and run with one purpose in the heart of our iconic city.

“Our city is home to stunning natural beauty, culture and heritage which visitors to the ADNOC Abu Dhabi Marathon can experience as part of their memorable visit to the UAE.”

It’s Dhs350 to take part in the full marathon, Dhs150 for the 10km race, Dhs75 for the 5km option and Dhs50 for the 2.5km fun run.
Everyone that takes part will get a race shirt and medal.
