Volunteers needed for the first Special Olympics UAE Games

Organisers are looking for 600 people to sign up

The first-ever Special Olympics UAE Games will be held in March.

From March 19 to 22, more than 650 athletes of determination are set to take part in the event, which will include basketball, athletics, volleyball, badminton, swimming and powerlifting.

It will be held at NYU Abu Dhabi on Saadiyat Island and will see local athletes compete across all six disciplines.

Now, the event is searching for 600 volunteers to help run the event and be a part of the inaugural tournament in the UAE capital.

Volunteers will be required across all areas of the vent including sports, health, delegations and non-sporting events.

People over the age of 15 are encouraged to volunteer to take part and gain training to be a part of the event.
